Best CAD jewellery software

When anyone start learn or want to join jewellery designing course he/she has many question in mind like
Which is the best jewellry CAD software?
Or which is the best jewellry CAD software in terms of ease of learning and creating good designs to manufacture?
A CAD software which is easy to learn, allows you to draw and modify 3 D designs easily such that a jeweller can manufacture them.

Can I learn the tool myself or do I need to take a jewellery designing class? If a class, where can I take it?

Answer is:
It depends on how complex your designs will be and depend on your budget. A typical full-feature 3D software will range from 350000.00-450000.00 Rupees. You can learn with help of online videos and notes but from experience they aren't always the most user friendly.

I would definitely recommend taking professional classes online or at an authorized training center like OTM jewellery, which id provide jewellery designing course in delhi

Visit  http://www.otmjewellery.in/academy/courseinfo.php

There is a software called Matrix 6 by Gemvision and Rahino that has many great features and

OTM jewellery training institute offers highly professional courses in jewelcad, computer based jewellery, jewelry, jewellry, jewelery designing,delhi- India,delhi-NCR

What's the difference between CAD and AutoCAD?

You have learned Solidworks, one of many CAD programs.

Your confusion over naming is not unwarranted. CAD stands for Computer Aided Design but there are other acronyms which also mean that a process of design is assisted by computing,. These can mean the same or can indicate an area or speciality eg. CADD, ECAD, CAM.

So seeing AutoCAD might lead you to think along those lines but you would be mistaken. AutoCAD is simply the most famous and widely used software. It made by Autodesk - hence the Auto part of the name.

The best bit of all this is that once you have mastered the basic ideas behind CAD you can apply them to learn quickly any other program. The differences are generally cosmetic - different commands, named in other fashions and sometimes ordered differently eg. Microstation.

So yes in a way you can do either! You can use you CAD skills to work in both Solidworks and AutoCAD.

The Difference Between AutoCAD and SolidWorks

AutoCAD

  • AutoCAD is one of the original PC-based design applications, used for creating plans that can be fed into computer-controlled machining rigs. It's primarily focused on the creation of two-dimensional design blueprints, though later versions have added some 3-D support. The feature set of CAD has grown in line with commercially available computing power. It could initially only use simple lines, arcs and polygons, but as the power of home PCs has increased to be able to handle more, the feature-set of AutoCAD has expanded to match it.

    SolidWorks

    • SolidWorks is a three-dimensinal (3-D) modeling tool, created by D'Assault Systemes. It is used for creating accurate 3-D representations of objects. It is what is known as a parametric modeler, referring to the dimensions of created objects as parameters. Relationships between the various parameters of an object can be created, which will automatically update when one of them is altered. This simulates the effect that changing that value, would have on the object as a whole.

Solidworks is a "parametric" solid modeller used for 3D design.autocad is primarily a 2D design tool that does have some 3D capability, but is very simple compared to any parametric solid modeller (although 3D is improved in AutoCAD 2007). Autodesk(who makes AutoCAD) makes a product that is nearly identical to solidworks, called Inventor, which is a parametric program for design of solid parts and assemblies.

AutoCad for Jewelry Design Course

if you are interested in learning AutoCad for Jewellry Design, and don't know  where to begin, or if there are any jewelry design specific Cad  design courses or cad softwares.

This is my personal Opinion. There might be others who have a diffeent
viewpoint.

AUTOCAD or for that matter any software is a just a Tool.

If you want to use it for say "JEWELLARY DESIGN" then
1) You should first know JEWELLARY DESIGN
2) Then learn Autocad and its basic features which are common to any
application
3) Apply those features to the tasks that you need to do in JEWELLARY DESIGN
4) You will realise that some features of Autocad are more used and some
less.
5) Continue using it and you will be expert.

After you are expert you call then

6) Develop libraries for JEWELLARY DESIGN
7) Develop Tools like Autolisp suited for some specific tasks in
JEWELLARY DESIGN

When you or somebody else does 6) & 7) on a large scale it is called a
Vertical Product

But after all it is the step 1) That is most important
If you are going to use AUTOCAD then
I suggest that you take training from somebody who is extensively
using 3dModeling in Autocad.

Whether it is a jewellery design institute or an individual should be decided
by your Certification requirements if any.
